New Banquet Format for 1999Just want to go the the flyer? Go here. District 36 Clubs, Officials and Promoters would like to thank you for supporting our events in 1999. District 36 events are made possible by the individuals who volunteer time to work the events, by the individuals who ride events, and by the family members who sacrifice their time by allowing us to participate in the sport we all love. Each and every one of "YOU" are what makes our sport great. THANK YOU! Last year, I volunteered to Chair this years awards banquet. I received numerous requests from District 36 Clubs, from District Officials, from Promoters, and from District Members like yourself to make the "1999 District 36 Awards Banquet" a banquet like nothing the "YOU" have ever experienced before here in District 36. With those requests in mind, I set forth with three main objectives: 1.) Provide an atmosphere for YOU, your family members, and your guests that showcases District 36's top riders and showcases the dedication it takes to be named among the "BEST IN THE WEST," 2.) Provide a location that allows District 36 to showcase the "BEST IN THE WEST" while still being centrally located. 3.) Provide an awards banquet & dinner fit for a king while still providing a cost per person that is within reason. With these objectives in mind, I set forth on the task set before me...................... I searched in the mountains of Tahoe and found snow. I search in the vineyards of Napa and found tourists. I search in the garlic fields of Gilroy and found garlic. I searched in the ocean surf of Monterey and found Highway 101. I search in the Machinist Hall of Sacramento and found lasts year banquet. I ended my search in a "quiet little town" nestled between Sacramento and San Francisco. I found a cultural arts center surrounded by fountains, statues, lights, and courtyards. I found seating for 400. I found white table clothes. I found china. I found silverware. I found waiters and waitresses to serve your dinner. I found tri-tip of beef. I found boneless chicken in wine sauce. I found vegetarian pasta primavera. I found a no-host bar with its own private room. I found over $1000 in certificates and prizes for riders from IMS. I found 10 gift certificates from MAIER. I found two motorcycle companies looking to give away contingency prizes to riders winning awards that rode their bikes (gotta be present to win). I found an ISDE video package. I found a promoter selling tickets for a drawing to be held in the near future for a new bike. I found special jackets for the overall cross country, enduro, and flattrack champions (rider sponsors shown on jacket). and I am not done looking! I might have even found a current NATIONAL CHAMPION to attend. I found January 15.2000 . Did I mention the AWARDS PRESENTATION? That secret you have to come and see whats up! As the chair of the 1999 District 36 Awards Banquet, I want to invite you attend this years banquet. I promise you that you will walk away saying, "The 1999 District 36 Awards Banquet & Dinner" was like no other banquet you ever attended in District 36. I realize there is a lot of change but I feel that in this case the change is worth every dime. Please come and HELP us showcase District 36's Best of the Best Award Winners!
